"Fine..." he muttered under his breathe in defeat after turning his attention back to the cast once Kennedy had walked over. He did admit they he owed Reba for it, but so did Ryan. He'll find a way to mention about it later in case she forgot.
For some reason it now came to though that Kennedy still wasn't hungry which concerned him a lot more than it should have. He glanced over his shoulder to look at her, slightly anxious. "Are you all right? You seem kind of...I don't know. Tense." he said in a slightly quieter tone. "At least before..." he added. Maybe now he could probably fix things if Kennedy felt the same way he did a few moments ago. Yet he wasn't quite sure if she was willing to go off to the side and tell him what she was thinking about even if he was prepared; which in truth made him upset.

Kennedy's stomach dropped, she should've known Kodi knew her all to well, and that he could recognize when she was tense, upset, jealous or whatever she was feeling. He always knew. Turning her back to Kodi for a second, she tried to smile at Reba, "No, I think they only had black." She said, making a disappointed face. Walking over she picked up the burger that was meant for her,and unwrapped it, staring at it for a second, before finally addressing Kodi's question, "I have no freaking idea." She said sadly, looking at him,and then back down to the burger. She removed the bun, picked up a pickle and dropped it into her mouth, keeping her eyes fixed on the burger.

"And so she wins...like usual," Ryan commented, rolling his eyes as Reba started drawing on his cast. "If it doesn't look awesome, I'm suing you," he threatened her, watching as Kodi went over to talk to Kennedy. Was it just him, or was the tension in this room practically tangible? He watched them for a moment, an expression that was both curious and concerned on his face. Finally, he looked away, focusing once more on the food. "So are you people just going to camp in here for the next couple of days or are you going to have some fun and go back out on the slopes?" he asked, to anyone wanting to answer. "I'm pretty sure I want a rematch with that jump," he said, mostly kidding.

Reba smiled, pleased they had come to an agreement, now if only she could come up with a theme. "Ryan, what kind of tat would you like? I mean, you do have to wear it." Reba grabbed a few napkins, prepared to sketch some things. "Think about all the sympathy chicks are gonna have for you. You're going to be swamped in them." Reba tossed her head back and laughed, "It's like your dream come true." Listening to Ryan's bit of sarcasm, Reba rolled her eyes at him, "And what's that supposed to mean exactly?" Even though she wanted to avoid any more conflict, she wondered exactly what he meant by that. Reba would go to battle for her friends, but she always felt like she never put forth enough to prove her worth or value. So this comment bothered her.

Kodi cringed inside when Kennedy simply turned her back on him. The fact that she ignored him enough to just simply start on a different subject after that simply made it worse and he just wanted to stay quiet and at the same time fume with anger. She must have been very upset to just do that to him, but if he mentioned anything about it, it might simply turn out to be a whole argument. After having one earlier with all the other students in here, he did not want to deal with another one, especially with Reba and Ryan in the room.
He pretended not to mind it despite how apparent his frustration one as he began to constantly bite his lower lip. Reba's question for Ryan had made him suddenly think about what tattoo design he was going to draw on the cast, but it didn't take long for him to decide. "Pfft, I don't even need to show him what he likes. I know he'll like mine." he said, rather confident in his style enough to assume Ryan would automatically like it. It became apparent to him now that had recognized something about himself that he didn't before. Reba always seemed to have put him in a better mood whenever she spoke, and if she was upset, it would be quite the opposite. Where as with Kennedy, there was always fear that he would disappoint her or anger her when he couldn't put a finger on what he did wrong. Suddenly he was afraid someone else might have noticed and instantly he was silent until Kennedy spoke up.
Kodi heard Ryan's question and figured that Reba would probably distract him away from the situation at hand even if he wanted to mention that he did in fact wan to return to the slopes. Right now his eyes were fixated on Kennedy and he turned around so that his back was leaning on the edge of the bed once more to face her. "Can we talk somewhere else?" he said quietly and almost solemnly, afraid she would protest against speaking with him for more than just a sentence at a time.

Kennedy raised her eyes to meet Kodi's, the tone of his voice scared her, and she could feel the nervousness coursing through her body. She set the basically untouched burger down on the table, and half heartedly smiled at him, "Of course." she said, the nerves made her voice shake ever so slightly. She turned on her heel, and wandered out the door, stopping to wait for him in the hallway. She drew in sharp nervous breaths, afraid that Kodi would completely come unglued and yell at her. "Do you hate me?" She whispered as soon as she saw him, her knees were literally knocking together, with fear. Kennedy's worst fear was that his was the exact moment that she'd lose her best friend, and that scared her death.

Ryan looked at Reba with an amused grin. "They already love me," he said simply, watching as she contemplated what to draw. "Honestly, I have no idea. Just surprise me...something that says 'Yeah I'm awesome'," he told her. He had confidence that she would come up with something cool and he wasn't really picky as to what it was. He decided to end his eating frenzy and he turned to watch her, his brow furrowing at her last question. "What do you mean? It's just a joke. You always win...but not always, like I said I was kidding...it's not a bad thing though," he explained, somewhat confused. Watching Kennedy and Kodi go out into the hallway, it seemed to relieve some of the tension in the room. "What's with them?" he asked her.

Reba kept her head low, beginning the tail of the dragon she intended on drawing. "Whatever Ryan." She mumbled, chewing her lip as she went along. "I didn't mean anything when I asked, but it's beem a loooong day." Reba let out a long sigh, sitting upright for a moment. "I'm not sure," Reba said with a shrug. "Everyone has been acting all weird today." That was the partial truth. She didn't know what was wrong with Kennedy. All she knew was that Kodi liked them both, and she was dealing with her own mixed emotions about that major revelation. What he had told her could ruin the friendship she valued more than anything. "I don't think it would be fair to leave you all cooped up in here.Plus I don't really enjoy the snow as much as I pretend to. It's so...cold." Reba laughed, going back to work on the dragon, changing the subject.

Immediately Kodi was shocked to hear what Kennedy said as soon as the two of them stepped outside the room. "What? Why would you think that? Of course I don't hate you!" he said abruptly. "I could never hate you, you're my friend." he added, wrapping his arms around her into a hug. He felt utterly terrible now, thinking he had been torturing her this long with that question. He didn't quite understand why in the world she would assume he would hate her, that was impossible. After all that they been through as friends, he couldn't just automatically hate over one simple misunderstanding.
"I was afraid you were really upset me. I'm not sure if you are though or if it was because you thought I hated you." he replied, pulling away from the hug and looking to her. "I've just had a lot on my mind, but I'm afraid it's something that would ruin our friendship so I didn't say anything." he added, glancing away to the floor. Kodi did not want to admit what had been conflicting him for most of the trip, but she was one of his best friends; it would be wrong to not be honest with her. Though maybe it was one of those things where just no one should know and he should keep to himself to figure out. It was too late anyways to take it back, and now was forced to have to deal the truth.

Most of her nerves evaporated as soon as she heard directly from him, that he did not hate her. Although her stomach still managed to continue it's flip flops, and now it was starting to grumble, reminding her that she was past the point of hungry, she was starved. "I'm not upset with you," She began, doing her best to sound sincere, and make eye contact, "I just felt like you've been so distant this whole trip." she finally admitted, his words struck a strange chord with her. "What's been on your mind?" She asked, feeling slightly brave. Maybe if what was on his mind, was also what was on hers, she could end all of this tense awkwardness now. "Maybe I can help?" She offered, resting a hand on his shoulder and squeezing gently, "I'm always here for you." She reminded him, her voice soft and sweet.

Ryan looked confused for a moment longer, still trying to decide what had brought up that question. Reba went on and changed the subject, so he decided to just let it go. Just avoiding drama sounded like a good idea. "Yeah everyone is acting weird. I thought it was just me, being all drugged up and all but now that you say it, it must be true. I mean, I could feel the tension in the air until just a moment ago. It's weird," he said, running a hand through his hair. He tried to shrug all of those thoughts off. He wasn't able to figure any of it out and it would do him no good to worry. "Oh please, don't everyone have a boring life and stay here with the boring cripple. Go out and have some fun, that's why we're here. I'll just take a nap or something. I don't care if you don't like the cold. I'll lock all of you out if I have to... Well, I guess one person could stick around, being alone isn't fun but take shifts or something...really, don't all of you just sit around here all day," he insisted. Being the center of attention was nice, but he wanted his friends to have fun on this trip.

"It's really not a problem Ryan. Really, I don't like the cold and the snow all that much. I prefer the sandy beaches and hot sun, tanned bodies frolicking on the beach." Reba inhaled, her mind drudging up the memories of the salty air. "That's the kind of scene I would much rather prefer. But, I will have to go out and get some markers and more paper. I only have a limited amount of space on your leg." She was now working on the dragon's head, giving careful details to his eyes. The eyes always told the story behind the story. She glanced up at Ryan, feeling pity for him, but pity wasn't what her friend needed nor wanted. "Ryan, don't call yourself cripple. It's not like you're permenatly paralyzed or anything. Even though it may seem like this is the worst possible outcome, there is always worse." She hoped that sounded encouraging and didn't depress him more. "And you know I don't really get along with most of those kids. They find me kind of aggressive." Reba laughed, knowing the label was somewhat true. "I just see what I want, go after it and get it. What's wrong with that?"

Kodi was sightly relieved to hear that she wasn't upset with him, in fact he knew he should feel completely happy knowing that she was not angry. However, he knew the feeling would not last long for what he was about to tell her and it made him absolutely terrified of what was going to come next. Guilt weighed his heart down as he opened his mouth to speak, yet the words could not come out to say what he needed to. Instead he sighed heavily, grasping her small hand on his shoulder and held it tight as he looked up to her with a weak and dismal smile before it quickly faded.
"Kennedy, it's something you can help with." he started, pausing to try and find a better way to express what he was feeling. Her sweet voice only bit him, letting him regret was he was about to say. "I like you, and I really want to be with you, but I'm too afraid that I might say something wrong and then you will suddenly become upset; a lot like what happened today. " the words seemed harder to form as he continued on. "I think you're a really sweet girl and you're very beautiful, but, I also like someone else. I don't want you to think our friendship is over because of this, I mean I can't give you up as a friend. " he stopped, watching to see how she had taken it this far. "I can't just constantly have to worry about you being upset over something that I had no idea I did wrong. It will just destroy me, and if we go into a relationship like this, it just would end in a complete disaster." he rested a hand on her cheek. "I wanted to be honest with you about it and I can't tell you how afraid I was to tell you. I'm just so very sorry..."

Kennedy stared blankly ahead, avoiding eye contact with Kodi. Her stomach dropped to her feet nearly, and she struggle to breath. Before she could even talk, all she did was play his words over and over again in her head, dissecting every bit of information he gave her.
Her first thoughts were, wow am I really that horrible of a person, I make him feel like he's always walking on egg shells around me. And then her mind curiously wandered back and forth, he liked her, but he liked someone else. Obviously he was leaning towards this someone else. The words friendship, disaster, and them being together nipped at her, all wrapped into the same sentence she knew there was no way now to tell him her feelings for him.
Before Kennedy spoke, she gently dropped her hand from his, breaking all contact with him. "Kodi, I love you, you know that?" She said very quietly, so quiet he'd have to strain to hear her. "I want your happiness. If I'm not what will make you happy, please don't." she paused, finally looking at him, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment, "I'm sorry I've made you feel so bad. I want your happiness."

"Well I am a cripple, even if it's not permanent. I guess you're right though, Ken and I were talking about it and I suppose not all hope is lost," Ryan replied with a shrug, his gaze fixed on his cast as he watched her draw. His eyes lit up with amusement as Reba mentioned going after what she wanted. "No, there's nothing wrong with that at all. It's a perfect way to be. I mean, if you want something you have to go after it and get it...no matter what. It's the only way you'll get far in the world," he said. That was they way he liked to think of things anyways. "That's why I'm still going to play ball," he added determinedly. His gaze drifted over to the door, once more wondering what was going on between Ken and Kodi. Really, Kennedy had only told him a little and he had a feeling he was missing out on something. Or maybe that was just the drugs talking...
